About COGJET - 2025
COGJET is a joint entrance test for admission into post-graduate/doctoral program in Cognitive Science. COGJET in 2025 will be jointly organized by Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS), University of Allahabad and IIIT Hyderabad for admission to M.Sc in Cognitive Science program at CBCS and PhD in Cognitive Science at IIIT Hyderabad. Indian nationals who have completed their 3yr/4yr UG degree [in subjects related to Cognitive Science and Psychology, or in Biological / Physical / Analytical science, or in Engineering / Medical Science, or in Management Studies], or expect to finish the degree by June 2025 are eligible to write the COGJET exam. COGJET is an enabling exam. Each candidate who appears for the exam will get a performance card giving the candidate’s score on the exam. Individual institutes/Universities participating in the exam are free to use the candidate’s COGJET score in any way they wish in their admission process. COGJET-2025 does not automatically make you eligible for admission to a PG/Doctoral program in participating institutions. Each participating institution may have eligibility conditions in addition to COGJET and may also allow other national exams like GATE, NET etc. Please see the details on the websites of the respective institutions. The non-refundable examination fee is Rs. 1000/- [for SC/ST, OBC (NCL), and PwD: Rs.700/-]. The 2025 edition of the test will be completely online. The candidates can attempt it from any location provided they are equipped with compatible electronic devices, operating systems and internet connectivity. All details will be available on the website. This test will be based on MCQs for which you will need good conceptual understanding of the topics listed in the syllabus. There will be 40 questions and the duration of the exam is 2 hours. The syllabus is available on the COGJET 2025 portal and includes topics from cognitive psychology, neuroscience, mathematics, and programming in addition to general reasoning.
